Meet the Mentors
Meet Bronwyn
Hi! I’m Brony, or BB, and if you let me, I can talk about birth for dayyysss. Birth work is my passion, my purpose, and one of the greatest honours of my life. There is something truly magical about witnessing the raw power of birth, about holding space for families as they step into the unknown and emerge forever changed. I believe birth is sacred. That knowledge is power. That every birthing person deserves to be wrapped in love, joy, and unwavering belief in their strength.
My job as your doula isn’t to teach you the "right" way to give birth—because there is no one way. It’s to help you find YOUR way. Whether you're birthing in a hospital, at home, or somewhere in between, my role is to hold space, offer guidance, and ensure you feel informed, confident, and deeply supported every step of the way.
I have been working in this field for over five years now, but in my heart, I know I’ve been holding space for others my entire life. As the oldest daughter and a lifelong lover of humans, I have always been the steady presence, the listener, the one to offer a hand to hold. Finding my way to birth work felt like coming home—like stepping fully into the purpose I was always meant for. To do this work, to witness birth in all its raw beauty, and to support families and doulas along the way is something I will never take for granted. I am endlessly grateful to be here.
But my love for birth work doesn’t stop there. I am also deeply passionate about mentoring doulas—guiding those who feel the same call to this work, helping them step into their power, and reminding them that this path is just as transformative for the doula as it is for the families we serve. There is an ancient thread that connects all birth workers, a quiet knowing, a fire that burns in our hearts. Supporting and mentoring new doulas is my way of tending to that fire, of making sure it keeps burning bright.
A little about me— I was born in South Africa, moved to New Zealand as a teenager, and about 15 years ago, I fell in love with a cute redheaded Aussie boy, moved to Melbourne, and never looked back (it’s going well so far!). Now, I live in Bayside, Melbourne, with my husband, our three amazing kids, and our three equally amazing cats. When I’m not at a birth or soaking up all things birth-related, you’ll probably find me playing hockey, getting lost in a book (audiobooks definitely count!), or belting out Taylor Swift, who somehow always sings the words in my heart.
To the doulas just starting out—know this: you are needed. Your voice, your presence, your passion. The world of birth work is richer because you are in it. I am here to walk beside you, to remind you of your magic, and to hold space for you as you grow into the doula you are meant to be. The work we do matters. And together, we will keep the fire burning.
Meet Ashleigh
Hello there, welcome to Mother Moon, please allow us to walk by your side as your life is changed in ways you never knew possible.
I am a devoted, empathetic Doula who is obnoxiously passionate about supporting individuals and families through the most transformative and powerful experiences of their lives!
Equality is at the heart of everything I stand for, and I remain committed to supporting all people, marginalised communities and anybody requiring guidance to ensure all voices are heard in spaces where rights, choices, and safety have often been overlooked or taken for granted.
My experience and dedication to this work began when I saved up my pennies and took off to America at 18 years old volunteering with people from all walks of life who didn’t have the same opportunities as most. This quickly led me to becoming a Social Worker and starting my career in child protection, women’s refuge, community services, business management and education.
I feel fiercely obligated to advocate for equalisim, empowerment, education, informed consent on all journeys in life from the beginning through to the end, not to mention every transition in between.
I am rapidly approaching 20 years in the field and upon reflection, my favourite things other than the honour I have holding space for people, is that fact that I learn something new every single day and acknowledge that no two experiences will ever be the same. I guess I’m just an old gal learning new tricks daily which ignites my flame over and over again!
I have spent the majority of the past decade as a qualified Trainer & Assessor supporting women to find their passion to become Doulas, mentoring, guiding and reflecting on their learning experiences to contribute to our society. Complementing this, I am part of the Natural Grace family who holistically care for guests who have died and stand by their families to farewell their loved ones.
When I am not working, I say this laughing very loudly, I get to hang out with the best tribe of all, my little fambam! I am one lucky lady to be supported unconditionally by a very handsome fella who keeps the world turning for us all while I am here there and everywhere for so many others! We have 3 sassy, brave, compassionate children who rule the roost and 3 furbabies who also rule the roost equally, not to mention Timmy the Turtle and a black cat, which every witch needs!
We spend our time primarily as uber drivers for our kids, coaching endless sports but also love travelling anywhere in our van, on the water, hanging with our amazing friends and enjoying the simple things in life.
To summarise things, my mission in life is to change the world. So come and join us to break down barriers, educate everybody who will listen and support individuals to make choices that align with their needs, values, and desires.
So if like us, you believe in witchcraft and magic, that patriarchy is vile, wine always holds the answers and continuous growth is paramount, you are in the right place!
Meet Jacki
Hi, I am Jacki an empathic and intuitive mentor who brings warmth, care, and an unmatched depth of experience to every woman I work with.
Having had the privilege of experiencing childbirth at different stages of life – as a teen, in my 20s, 30s, 40s, and now as a grandmother – I understand the profound and often life-changing nature of this sacred journey. These diverse experiences have shaped my belief that birth is deeply personal, and every woman should be empowered with all the options available to her. I have always felt a passionate drive to educate and support others in navigating the beautiful complexities of birth, whether at home, in the hospital or in any space of your choosing.
As someone who has walked the path of motherhood through many decades and stages, I know how important it is to honour each woman’s personal journey. My role is to guide, not to dictate; to share my knowledge, not to impose my experiences. I offer a nurturing space for those who are drawn to the world of doula work, helping them find their own authentic voice and approach. Through this mentorship, I strive to empower women to become leaders in the birth world—wise and compassionate doulas who help others experience truly transformational births.
My commitment to learning is unceasing. The birth world is always evolving, and I am passionate about staying up-to-date with the latest research, techniques, and philosophies. This love of learning fuels my teaching and ensures that the doulas I mentor are equipped with the most current knowledge and tools.
Beyond birth, I have a deep love for physical fitness, reading, gardening, and everything related to dance and music, especially country music. These interests are more than just hobbies—they shape who I am as a person and as a mentor. They inspire my creativity, remind me to stay grounded, and keep my spirit alive.
I bring a unique blend of experience and enthusiasm to my work, believing that each woman has the ability to make a profound impact in the world of birth. Whether you are just starting to explore the doula path or are ready to deepen your knowledge, I am here to guide you every step of the way. At MotherMoon, we create a space for women to learn, grow, and ultimately empower others to have the transformative birth experiences they deserve.
Join me on this beautiful journey, and let’s work together to bring the light of birth into the world, one empowered doula at a time.
